Mrs. Rosalyn Malamud, director of the Crown Heights Women’s Mikvah for 27 years, visited the second mikvah that is being built in the same Brooklyn neighborhood.
Touring the construction site of Mikvah Mei Chaya Mushka on Lefferts Avenue last Monday, Malamud pointed out that the new mikvah fills a growing need in the community.
“For years, local Jewish women relied on just one mikvah,” she explained. “A second mikvah will provide many more Jewish women with the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of Taharas Hamishpacha.”
She told the mikvah’s founder and driving force Rabbi Moshe Pinson that the new, state-of-the-art facility is “a welcome addition to the Crown Heights community and for Jewish women in surrounding communities.”
Crown Heights is home to Lubavitch World Headquarters and dozens of shuls. It is frequented by Shluchim couples from around the world and visitors curious about Jewish life throughout the year.
